Potato Pie (Slavonian Krumpirača)

Krumpirača, a traditional Slavonian potato pie, is a simple yet delicious dish that evokes the flavors and scents of a grandmother’s kitchen in Slavonia.

Ingredients:

– 500 g (4 medium) potatoes

– 300 g (2 cups) all-purpose flour

– 2 eggs

– 200 ml (1 cup) of milk

– 1 teaspoon of salt

– 1/2 teaspoon of pepper

Instructions:

  1. Grate the potatoes: Peel the potatoes and grate them using a box grater. Put them in a bowl.
  2. Mix the ingredients: Add the flour, eggs, milk, salt, and pepper to the grated potatoes. Mix everything well to make a thick batter.
  3. Bake: Preheat the oven to 180 °C (350 °F). Grease a baking dish with oil or butter. Pour the batter into the dish and spread it evenly.
  4. Bake for 45 minutes: Bake the potato pie for about 45 minutes until the top is golden brown.
  5. Serve: Let it cool slightly before slicing. It can be served warm or cold.
